Using 100% recycled paper instead of paper from virgin pulp saves more than 5 lb of CO2 equivalent greenhouse gases for each ream of paper. That's more than the paper itself weighs! How can the greenhouse gas emissions from non-recycled paper exceed those of recycled paper by more than the weight of the paper itself? Recycled paper is less environmentally harmful to manufacture, and it represents paper that didn't go to a landfill. (Source.) Paper in landfills is converted to methane by anaerobic microbes. Methane is a very potent greenhouse gas (more than 20 times worse than CO2). Today recycled paper is available at about the same cost as non-recycled paper, and in the same grades, qualities, and finishes. You should also choose papers which are not chlorine bleached. So ask your supplier for "100% recycled, 100% post-consumer, not chlorine bleached" papers.
