HaraBara--greening the globe one business at a time

All Kinds of Data

Here are some insights gained by HaraBara's accession team while building GreenBase over the past few months, and selecting items to include in HaraBara Daily Brief.

GreenBase items tend to fall into three categories: Resources and information important to day-to-day operations and short-term planning; developments that need to be taken into account in intermediate-term planning and decisions; and emerging trends that may have strategic importance. These might be:

How does this affect us right now?

  • what other companies are doing
  • M&A, financing and related transactions
  • problems or successes other companies are having, especially our suppliers and competitors
  • how our company appears in the information flow
  • consumer reaction and attitudes
  • best practices
  • new technologies
  • new products
  • online resources and reports
  • items mentioning potential or current suppliers and customers

These might affect us in the intermediate term:

  • regulatory and legislative developments
  • others' corporate strategies

Things to watch long-term:

  • emerging industries
  • new science
  • major long-term trends, e.g. electric vehicles

We think all of these are important, which is why we indiscriminately harvest, qualify and mark up information of all sorts and types. It is up to our users to decide what it means to them.
