HaraBara--greening the globe one business at a time

Supplier Assessment

Supplier Assessment or Suppliers' public sustainability persona™

By analyzing and tracking how major suppliers are perceived, this report adds cost-effective qualitative information to a company's existing supply chain management tools.  HaraBara's technology and deep domain expertise allow assessment of the public perception of your suppliers in an objective and comparable fashion by

  • assessing overall sustainability-related strength and weaknesses for your supplier selection process and contract renegotiation purposes
  • identifying potential alternative suppliers and/or products and services
  • leveraging supplier's public perception gains for company's own marketing purposes
  • improving the ongoing communication with suppliers
  • identifying and anticipating perception issues, avoiding costly knee-jerk reactions to public perception changes
  • potentially identifying indirect or secondary risks (or non-obvious risks) related to supplier's suppliers
  • offloading tedious monitoring efforts from company's supply chain professionals
  • providing easy to understand initial and ongoing reports for communicating to company stakeholders

The assessment of each supplier's public sustainability persona is based on information we obtain through various channels, which may include news media, corporate web sites, press releases, blogs, social media and government sources. The overall persona assessment includes company published items as well as externally generated items, most of which are outside of the company’s control and often unsolicited. Currently, we concentrate on sources in English.

HaraBara will report on ten main suppliers as defined by the you (or a larger number as agreed upon). HaraBara will perform the supplier assessment using its best practices based on information available within HaraBara GreenBase™, the proprietary database owned and maintained by HaraBara, and information specifically developed and obtained for this project.

HaraBara will provide a detailed report fundamentally similar to the sample report we provided to you and will include quantitative and qualitative analysis, yield analysis, positive/negative assessment, and recommendations.

HaraBara will deliver the initial assessment report within 30 days of the start of the project (typically the date on which the project is authorized by you, you identify the suppliers to be considered, or payment has been made, whatever is later). HaraBara will issue a monthly update report at the end of each month following presentation of the initial report for 11 month covering the same suppliers selected for the initial report. Additional terms and conditions apply.
